Annual Black History Program and Taste Fest
We are excited to announce that our Annual Black History Program and Taste Fest will take place on February 28, 2026. This year’s celebration will center on the powerful theme:
“Building the Nation: African-Americans and the Labor of Love.”
During this special time, we will honor the rich history, faith, resilience, and contributions of African-Americans whose labor—both seen and unseen—helped build this nation and continue to strengthen our families, churches, and communities today.
Our celebration will include:
- The Annual Taste Fest, where members are invited to share dishes that reflect our heritage, culture, and fellowship.
- A Business Showcase, highlighting businesses within our congregation as a modern expression of African-American labor, entrepreneurship, service, and economic empowerment.
Sign-up sheets are now available on all main campus bulletin boards and in the front foyer of the Family Life Center for:
- Taste Fest dish participation
- Business vendors and business participants
A digital sign-up link will also be provided for business participants who prefer to register online. The deadline for sign-ups will be February 18, 2026. We look forward to coming together on February 28, 2026 to celebrate our history, uplift one another, and give glory to God for the legacy of labor, faith, and perseverance that continues through us today.

Funeral arrangements are scheduled for Friday, January 31, 2026 at Hall Davis and Son Funeral Service - 9348 Scenic Highway, Baton Rouge, LA at 11:00 AM. Rev. Mark C. Thomas of Greater New Guide B.C. Officiating.
Sis. Daisy Byrd transitioned from this life last Friday, January 23, 2025. Services will be held Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at Greater New Guide Baptist Church at 11 am.

Parents & guardians are not required to list their children's names up to age 25 on the envelope. Instead, select the “family” option on your envelope. Individuals age 26 and above must complete a separate envelope.
